|Background and Philosophy|
I am a heart-centered healer. All of my work emanates from my essence as a loving person. I believe healing happens in relationship. In an atmosphere of respect, acceptance, integrity and compassion the wounded parts of the self emerge and transform back to wholeness.
I presently help individuals and couples of diverse race, religion, and ethnicity with: difficulties related to anxiety, depression, low self-esteem, grief, and shame; relationship issues including poor communication, recovery from affairs, and the need for enhanced intimacy; traumas including sexual abuse, physical abuse, emotional abuse, and war trauma; sexual problems including low desire, inhibition, and impotence; and spiritual explorations including the search for meaning and purpose, and the development of practices and faith.
I have also worked with a variety of specific populations including: runaway teens and their families; Hispanic and African American college women; obese individuals and groups; gay and lesbian individuals and couples; terminally ill patients and their families; psychiatric in-patient children; and multiple personalities.
My path has led me from working in an Alabama prison as a VISTA volunteer after college, to pursuing traditional credentials as a licensed Psychologist,
I offer you the insights, experience, and wisdom this journey has brought me.
